Either in golden sands or in pebbled shorelines, Skiathos is equally rich in both, offering a large assortment of options for all preference and age variations. Koukounaries is a beach of worldwide fame; Ambelakia, which is an extension of Koukounaries; and also the amazing Agia Paraskevi, Lalaria, Mandraki, Vassilias, Achladies, Platanias, Sklithri, Zorbades, Agia Eleni, Xerxes, and Kechria, are just an indication of the multitude of majestic beaches embracing the island.
East of cape Kalamaki there are three bays, the most famous among them being the Kanapitsa bay. The other two are Sklithri and Tzaneria, all with wonderful beaches. Do not take into account the name of Vromolimno (which means “Dirty Lake”) which in contrast is a famous, vivid beach that attracts the majority of youth in its crystal waters and on its fine sands, which is what most of us love.
On the way to Koukounaries you will also see the Troulos, another splendid beach, named after the nearby islet which looks like a troulos (the dome of OrthodoxChristianChurches). At the end of the main road and after having left Koukounaries behind, do not remiss visiting the small and the large banana, because you will simply lose the chance to enjoy one of the most spectacular views to the sunset that our beautiful country can offer.
